- A few minutes later, in the new student council room -

Mao: Aaah geez, there’s no end to this work!

Tori: Upii!? Hey now, New Prez~*, can you not start yelling out of nowhere?

Anyway, you're complaining too much and working too slowly, so stop your pointless whining and just get it done already!

Yuzuru: Indeed, it is just as the young master says. In the first place, there is no such thing as an “end” to the duties of the student council, there’s merely “breaks”.

Consequently, I believe complaining about how there is “no end to this” is off the point. Though it serves as wordplay.

Mao: Uu, you’re both so harsh… Can’t you spoil me a little more~... Where’s Sengoku? He said he’d help out so the student council so I appointed him as “treasurer”, you know~?

If I don’t hear his “Just as expected of Isara-dono!” at every little thing I do, I can’t give it my all... I’m so exhausted, I want to be comforted….

Yuzuru: Hmm. I reviewed their schedule, and it appears that Ryuseitai had a job come up in “that building” today.

Students' work outside of the school will only increase from now on, and as a result times where they leave early, come in late, or not attend school at all will rise as well.

It is due to these present conditions that we intend to revise the school regulations after all.

Mao: Yeah… Everything is changing so quickly, and we’re caught in the middle of the chaos.

Being chosen as the successor may sound impressive, but in reality they forced the whole settlement of affairs on me and it feels like I got stuck with the Old Maid. 

Tori: Come on now, stop spouting complaints and pull through! Is this how Eichi-sama’s successor should act? I’ll whoop your butt!

Yuzuru: Fufu. The two of us will keep lending you our help, so let’s persevere just a little longer… New President-sama. 

The young master may be dissatisfied with you, but I thought from the start that Isara-sama’s work was in no way inferior to that of Eichi-sama and Keito-sama.

Tori: Muu. Don’t call him “Eichi-sama” when you’re not even his fan~, okay?

Yuzuru: I do respect him, in a way. And it would be strange to keep calling him “President-sama” now that he’s graduated, wouldn’t it?

When I tried to call him Tenshouin-sama he complained, saying “That’s unduly formal, isn’t it”.

It’s too late for him to be in his rebellious phase, and yet despite making full use of his family’s fame and influence he rather seems to dislike his last name.

Keito-sama generously accepted this way of referring to him, and even said “I wouldn’t mind if you dropped the suffix”.

However, using rude language such as that only serves to stress me out.

Mao: Uu~... Seems like we entered idle chat mode. I guess it was my fault for starting to grumble, but at this point it feels like everyone’s ability to concentrate has run out.

It’s almost time for the morning homeroom to start anyway, so how about we wrap up our work for now and retreat. Let’s just clean up, everyone.

Thanks for working so hard this early in the morning. Sorry for always relying on you guys so much… But I hope I can count on you to help me work during lunch break and after school, too.

Tori: Haa? That’s a given, since I’m a member of the student council! 

You inherited the position of student council president, so you should act more self-important! It’s fine to order people around from above, like “do this, do that”, okay?

Yuzuru: Indeed. It may be the New President-sama’s virtue, but you’re just a little on the modest side. Please act more confidently, or else people will look down on you.

Also, I believe the young master will be inheriting your position next year, and as you can see he is quite the bossypants… 

If you go around prostrating yourself too much, then by next year they’ll all think “This new president is awfully haughty and unpleasant” by contrast.

So for the young master’s sake, and indeed for all of our sakes, please throw your chest out some more.

Mao: Hm~... I get what you’re saying, but that’s not exactly my cup of tea.

It hasn’t been that long since I became the new president, and I haven’t gotten used to it yet. On top of that, the work isn’t going smoothly at all…

So I’ve been kinda losing my confidence, and started saying more and more negative stuff.

But I should get it together. I might never rule with the imposing air needed to be called “your majesty the emperor”, but…

I should at least show off enough that I don’t let down the people who believed in and chose me.

Thanks, guys. If there’s ever anything you’re worried about, tell me without hesitation. That goes for both of you, Tori and Yuzuru. 

I may not be able to do everything, but I’ll work hard to do as much as I can.

Yuzuru: Yes. Please follow your heart, New President-sama...♪

Tori: Yeah! I’ll keep the criticisms coming, so prepare yourself, New Prez~♪

Ritsu: Maa~kun! 

Mao: Uwoah, you surprised me!? W-what’s the matter all of a sudden, Ritsu?

Didn’t I tell you not to come to the student council room all the time~? Whenever you’re here I end up wanting to take care of you too much, and it gets in the way of the council work!

Ritsu: Fufun, Maa~kun loves spoiling me more than his three meals a day, after all...♪

Mao: No, rather than loving it, it’s just been such a habit since childhood that it’s been engraved into my mind as an instinct at this point, I think.

But seriously, what’s the matter? Some kind of trouble?

Please spare me any difficulties~, I have my hands full just taking care of the student council work right now.

Thanks to that, I haven’t even been able to participate in Trickstar’s activities even though it’s a crucial time for us right now.

Ritsu: Hmph. I don’t give a damn about what happens to Trickstar.

Think about me instead, look only at me and love only me! Swear your eternal love to me!

Mao: Seriously dude, what on earth are you talking about?

Yuzuru: Umm. If we’re being a bother, shall the two of us step outside?

Tori: Yeah… Do as you like, just don’t be late for class, okay~? ‘Cause you’ll bring shame upon the student council.

Mao: Got it. Again, thanks for your work, guys.

Ritsu. Is your business that urgent?

In that case, since our houses are in the same neighbourhood, you could’ve just come over to my place~. 'Cause being in separate classes has made talking in the classroom pretty much impossible and all.

Ritsu: Hm~... I’m not sure if this warrants a quick reaction, but I think I need to get a grasp of what’s going on as quickly as possible.

Maa~kun, now that you’re the new student council president, you’re in a position to hear information about the idol industry more than ever, right?

If I’m not mistaken, you look over any and all school-wide idol activities in particular.

Mao: Yeah. Well, that’s part of the regular student council duties.

Coordinating things is also part of it, but thankfully Tenshouin-senpai and Hasumi-senpai share their information regarding “that building” with me.

So yeah, I’d say I’m pretty knowledgeable about the idol industry now.

It’s just that… I leave the management of that kind of information to Yuzuru, since he’s the “secretary”, so it might’ve been better for you to ask him.

Ritsu: Muu. In that case, maybe we should have had Yuzuyuzu remain in the student council room with us.

Mao: “Yuzuyuzu” must be Yuzuru, huh.

Just like Subaru, you sure love to give people strange nicknames~. The first time you called me “Maa~kun” way back when, I didn’t even realize that you were talking about me.

Ritsu: Yeah. That was the first time, how nostalgic… Maa~kun, you were my first...♪

Wait, that’s not what this is about! I mean that’s important too, but it’s not what I came here to talk about!

Hey, Maa~kun… Have you heard of any plans for something called “Operetta”?
