Mao: Yuzuru. Sorry, but do you mind having a look over this document for me?
Yuzuru: I don’t mind. Understood, I’ll take a look at it.
Tori: Hey now~, why are you only showing it to Yuzuru? Share it with me, too! This is totally favoritism! Just for your information, me and Yuzuru have about the same level of experience, okay?
And I don’t think there’s much of a gap in our abilities either, so there shouldn’t be anything Yuzuru can understand that I can’t!
Well, our abilities as idols are different, though!
Anyway, don’t leave me out, okay~? Though I guess it can’t be helped that Yuzuru looks more reliable because he’s tall…
Mao: Ahaha. Sorry, sorry. It’s not like I was trying to slight you… Tori.
But this document has nothing to do with our student council duties, it’s a personal matter, you see.
I figured you’d get mad if you knew I was drafting up something like that during student council hours.
Tori: Well, of course I’d get mad at that. The only reason we’re getting anywhere at all with all this work is because the two of us are helping you out so much, and in the first place, lunch break isn’t supposed to be student council hours…
Though, if you have an acceptable reason for it, I wouldn’t mind overlooking this trivial matter.
So have some faith in me, New Prez.
Mao: I do have faith in you, I mean it. For real, I’m sorry… It’s just that you remind me of my little sister sometimes, what with the way you get angry at me no matter what I do.
But that’s kinda cold of me. Still, you know~ I think Yuzuru is better at getting “this kind of thing” than you, so.
Tori: Hmm? What do you mean, “this kind of thing”?
Mao: Umm, well. Like getting involved with unrelated business and making sure it won’t turn into an issue later on-- Stuff like that, I guess.
Yuzuru doesn’t let his personal feelings interfere, and can think impartially.
Tori: What are you talking about. ...Hey, can I have a look at that document?
Mao: Sure. Yuzuru~, once you’re done reading it, can you hand it over to Tori?
Yuzuru: Of course. I’ll be done reading it in just two seconds. You’ve become used to drafting up documents lately, and now there’s less typos and such in it than before. How splendid… New President-sama ♪
Mao: Mhm. I’ve always been skillful, and after doing them once I can pull off most things pretty well.
I’m no genius, so I’m never really “number one” at anything, though.
And yet here I am now, at the top of the student council~, life sure is strange.
Ritsu: Maa~kun!
Mao: Oh, there you are. I already figured you’d be dropping by today, so you didn’t give me a scare this time~, Ritsu.
Ritsu: Is that so. I’m not a ghost after all, but I guess that’s just fine since I don’t want to frighten Maa~kun.
I wonder how you knew I’d be coming, is it because you know everything about the person you love?
In that case, do you know what business I have here, too?
Mao: Yup. You want to talk about “Operetta”, probably.
I’m glad you’re here. Actually, I was just finishing up the plan for that, though Yuzuru and such are checking it for me right now…
Good thing I didn’t write it in vain, I’m not a fan of unpaid work.
I wouldn’t have minded it last year, but I’m in no position for that right now.
Even if it seems like I’m putting a tax on it here, I am in charge of the student council funds now, so…
If I drink tea that was paid for with those funds while working on stuff that doesn’t end up profiting anyone, people will get angry at me.
Tori: Umm, what are you talking about? What’s “Operetta”? Geez, you’re all talking way too much about issues I’m not involved with!
Yuzuru: Fufu. There’s no helping that, since the world doesn’t revolve around Bocchama. Of course, my world is an exception to that.
Anyway. Judging from this document, it appears that the New President-sama wishes to interfere in this “Operetta”.
It was supposed to be a one-off job for the alumnus Sakuma Rei-sama, and you intend to meddle in it…
This proposal turns it into a plan that’s convenient for us, and something we can reap profits from.
Tori: Hmm? I don’t really get it, but that kind of sounds like something Eichi-sama would do ♪
Mao: Yeah. I don’t intend to repeat what my predecessor did, but… If everything goes well, this will be quite “profitable” for us, I think. Probably. Dunno.
Tori: Nh~, you’re still so wishy-washy… If Eichi-sama was our strong, smart and imposing papa, that’d make you the still inexperienced Onii-chan, New Prez.
Still. I have a good feeling about this proposal.
Let me praise you for thinking up something like this… But when I looked it over for a moment, a few points stood out as problematic to me.
Mao: Yeah. Those points are what I want to talk over with Ritsu right now.
Ritsu: With me? I told you this a number of times, but I have no intention of joining the student council, got it?
Just hearing Ecchan grumble on endlessly about the work here during Tea Club last year was enough to make me think “I don’t wanna get involved with that…”.
Mao: I know. Though, I do feel a bit lonely since we can't really find time together anymore, being in different classes this year...
The way you are now, you’re fine by yourself, even if I don’t do every little thing for you.
You’ve really grown up, and now you’re heading down the right path. ...That’s why you came here today, right, Ricchan? ♪
Ritsu: You sure talk as if you know it all~, if someone other than Maa~kun had said that, I would’ve crushed both your eyes for it.
If you’re only gonna use those eyes to look at other people, it’s not like you really need them though, right?
Mao: My eyes!? That’s scary, don’t say that~! You’re reviving my trauma, thanks to you I’m still afraid of sharp things, you know?
Ritsu: Yeah. I’ve left scars on you that won’t fade for the rest of your life… You’ll never be able to forget me for as long as you live ♪
...I better carve “something like that” into that Anija of mine who keeps wandering off already, too.
That way, no matter where he is, he won’t ever forget how grave the sin of slighting me was.
